Air conditioning replacement and upgrades

Replacing an older split system is not always a simple like-for-like exercise. We consider room size, insulation, glazing, orientation, electrical supply, existing pipework and the way the room is actually used before recommending equipment.

Signs it may be time to replace

  • Repeated breakdowns or refrigerant leaks.
  • The system uses a superseded refrigerant and parts are hard to source.
  • It never kept the room comfortable — possibly undersized from the start.
  • Running costs have crept up, or it has become noisy.
  • Visible corrosion on the outdoor unit, common in coastal suburbs.

Repair or replace?

We give a straight answer. If a repair is economical and the system is otherwise sound, we'll say so. If the repair cost approaches a meaningful share of a new system's price, or the unit is near end of life, we'll explain the options side by side.

Reusing existing components

Pipework, mounting brackets and electrical circuits can sometimes be reused, but only after checking size, condition and compatibility with the new refrigerant and equipment. Old refrigerant is recovered by licensed technicians.

How the quote process works

  • Send the details through the quote form or call (08) 9527 1499 — photos of the space and any existing equipment help.
  • We confirm what we need to know and arrange a site assessment where the job requires one.
  • You receive a written quote listing equipment, scope, inclusions and exclusions.
  • Once approved, installation is scheduled and regulated work is undertaken by appropriately licensed trades.

Frequently asked questions

Can you replace my existing air conditioner?

+

Yes. Replacement is not always like-for-like. We check whether the existing pipework, drainage, electrical supply and mounting positions can be reused, and whether the original capacity was right in the first place. Older systems using superseded refrigerants generally need a full changeover rather than a partial swap.

What size air conditioner do I need?

+

Capacity depends on more than floor area. We look at room volume, ceiling height, insulation, glazing and window orientation, how many people use the space and when, and whether the room opens into other areas. A west-facing living area with large windows in Baldivis can need noticeably more capacity than a shaded room of the same size. We size from a site assessment rather than a square-metre rule of thumb.
